The Week End

I’m about to head out on a long drive to the border of Pennsylvania and Ohio to spend the weekend rafting with some friends from school. I have never gone rafting before and but thankfully one of our party is a rafting guide. While I’m a strong swimmer, I’m somewhat tempted to go down the river wearing a pair of swimmies…you know, just in case. Hopefully I’ll return Sunday with some excellent stories and perhaps a battle wound or two. In the meantime here are a few things to keep you entertained until my next riveting post.

Sally wrote a very informative and useful post on the Virtually Free Wardrobe Revamp. So useful, especially since I just threw out 80% of my clothing and am in desperate need of wardrobe assistance on a dime.

Alix is responsible for giving me a shoe complex, courtesy of her fabulous collection.

Sarah gives us 25 Cheap (or Free) Thrills…especially useful for those of us who can never find anything better to do than go out to eat. And who are also poor.

Check out Life in Travel. Hanh has a wardrobe and shoes to die for…not to mention the fact that she’s always traveling to lovely places.

Design*Sponge has a great recipe for an all purpose & all natural cleaner that smells oh so nice and will get the job done without giving you cancer.

Gala says it’s 2009: Where Are You At, which was surprisingly not depressing and quite uplifting when you’re honest about it. No more feeling bad for yourself!

Design for Mankind is having a Giveaway!

TreeHugger write about 8 Scary, Bizarre, and Gag-Inducing Natural Beauty Treatments. Ugh yea, I’m definitely gonna have to agree with them on the “Bird Poop Facial.” No thanks for me but you can be the judge.

Tina from Sparkling Ink did the sweetest interview for decor8, check out her Favorite Things

We all lost a little something when Domino magazine closed its doors, but thankfully there’s a neato group on flickr intent on preserving its inspirational photos and style, The Domino Magazine Files.

Holy crap this photo is mind blowing. Every point of light in the image is an entire galaxy with billions of stars. Jigga What? (i/o, +/- or scroll wheel, right click to zoom, arrow keys, w,a,s,d or mouse drag to move around)

This girl is so stylin’ I wish I knew more about her.

Jane from Sea of Shoes wrote about some of her Favorite Things. Given her sense of fashion, you can’t really expect anything less than 5 inch snakeskin Louboutins, right?

Mark Twain in Tesla’s lab. I love Mark Twain.

The Beauty Snob offers up the The Top 5 Worst Skin Care Mistakes

Winona’s little brother is just as entertaining as she is. Of course it was obvious from her Five Men’s Fashion First Impressions that there was talent, but I was not prepared for Clothes Make the Man, which my boyfriend should read and take notes on.
